An opportunity recently came about that I could not pass up. I knew the monkeys would love it! A viewing at the 4D Cinema of the new Thomas Movie, Tale of the Brave at Drayton Manor. Plus use of Thomas Land and Drayton Manor afterwards. Being a work day daddy couldn't join us and wasn't keen for me to drive the two and a half to three hours to get there and back again in the same day, so the monkeys and I plus Nanny stayed in a local hotel the night before. We arrived bright and breezy (well not strictly true) at about 9.45am. Having been so excited the previous night the monkeys hadn't actually fallen asleep until about 11ish! Very very late for them.
The film was scheduled to start at 11am but we were asked to be at the cinema for 10.30 to sign in. We were met with a room full of other bloggers, popcorn, drinks and Thomas themed toys for the monkeys to try out, as well as a visit from the Fat Controller, who shook hands with the children and posed for photo's with them. Little monkey listened intently to the Fat Controller after getting upset and asking to go back outside. Bless him, he was keen to go on the rides in Thomas Land! The Fat Controller explained to him that Thomas was in the wash down being cleaned and that he wanted little monkey to enjoy his new film first. My mum and I couldn't believe little monkey stood there and took it all in. No more tears from there on in and you know what? He sat and watched the entire film barely moving! Thanks Fat Controller!
Next came the film, in the roomy 4D cinema, with big comfy seats. The Fat Controller ensured the children and their parents were comfy, then the film begun!
Tale of the Brave sees new characters along with all the favourites, in a story about friendship, courage and bravery. Running for 60 minutes the movie is just the right length for it's target audience I would say. We loved it. A total must see for all Thomas fans.
Gator, Marion, Timothy and Reg are set to become trains residing in this home some point in the future!
Once the film had finished, the monkeys were handed a fab goodie bag and we were then free to roam the park and stay the remainder of the day. We are now the proud owners of two Tale of the Brave DVD's.
More excitement ensued with the rides in Thomas Land, lunch from the new fish and chip shop by the lake in the main Drayton Manor park, a train ride around the park and numerous Rosie and Thomas train rides to the Zoo and children's play area and back! We had a fab day out and can't thank Drayton Manor and Thomas Land and their fab PR's enough.
Little monkeys face was a picture much of the day! He had been before but was only 3 months old. Big monkey was 3 years old that time, so of course he had a fab time again.
We were there all day until 5pm and within ten minutes of leaving little monkey was snoring soundly in the back of the car, qickly followed by his big brother!
