Developed in conjunction with school teachers and child development experts, this picture book deals with the current issue of bullying in a sensitive way and is perfect for any school-aged child and their parents.
Written by Catherine Allison and illustrated by Kim Geyer, the book is bright, colourful and entertaining, whilst touching on the important topic of bullying. Whilst reading it prompted 6yr old monkey to ask questions like "why is he calling him shrimpy?"
A great way of highlighting that bullying goes on but having friends and the confidence to stand up for yourself can turn things around.
Big monkey enjoyed reading the book and found the illustrations really helped to tell the story. He did ask lots of questions and I think he had genuine concern for Noah Shrimpton. I won't spoil the story ending but I will say it's a happy one.
I love the extra page at the back of the book with information on what to do if you are being bullied, and I think this picture book will no doubt be a useful tool to use if the monkeys ever encounter any school bullying.
A lovely book full of fabulous pictures with an important message.
