Despite the colder weather, we've tried to get the monkeys out in the fresh air over the festive period. They are very lively and need space to run around, let off steam and have fun, so they've been to the park to play football. This was especially cool for big monkey as he had a new football kit from Santa.
The monkeys have also been for a wander and play at one of our favourite haunts, Heybridge Basin. There's always lots to see there and it's usually a very popular place to visit. The park there is ideal for them. Sadly the tearooms there were closed.
We also spent some time at the park whilst Daddy worked. It's great there as the trains go past for my little train obsessed monkey, there is a lake where we sometimes feed the ducks, plenty of space for my football mad monkey and of course the swing park!
The fort at Hylands Park is always a popular choice for us too and this time did not disappoint either. Well maybe Mummy just a little bit, seeing as the monkeys got very wet and cold in the biggest and deepest puddles they could find there. It's a good job the washing machine is on regularly!
I love Christmas I really do but it's always lovely to get outdoors and blow the cobwebs away after all that festivity indoors. Have you enjoyed some outdoor fun over the holidays. We're linking this post up with Coombe Mill and #CountryKids.
