The Results

I've only gone and done it! 4 stone off in 7 months!! I'm so chuffed.

Back in November I took on the 6 wk Kick Start challenge at the gym. Part of this meant getting on the scales to be weighed. I knew I needed to lose weight but was shocked and ashamed when the scales read 13st 6lb. That was the kick up the arse I needed to get moving, eating healthily and becoming a lot fitter than I've been in a very long time.

The weight had initially crept on during both my pregnancies. Both times I had put on 3 and a half stone. I'd lost all of the weight between the monkeys, but after our youngest I think I just assumed it would come off one day, except it didn't, as I kept eating all the wrong foods and never exercised!

In the months since November I have radically reduced my food intake, swapping foods high in fat and sugar for fruit and veg, salads and protein shakes and back in January a 9 day Forever Living detox programme.
My water intake is far higher than it ever used to be and it is pretty much all I drink during the day now.

I go to the gym 2-3 times a week attending classes which I prefer to open sessions. I love boxing fitness and spinning and recently ran pain free, which I'd never have managed before due to knee problems and my weight.

I feel fantastic! My energy levels are much higher, and I'm sleeping better. My skin is better, I love wearing smaller clothes and love the feeling regular exercise gives me. I've gone from wearing size 16 clothes (verging on size 18 jeans) to size 8-10 clothes! I don't think I've been that size since I was about 25!

My current weight is 9st 6lb and my aim now is to maintain that weight. Back in November I only dreamt of being a size 12. I've lost lots of inches and gained lots of confidence, not least from encouraging comments from other members at the gym and others who have seen my weight and shape change.


I owe huge thanks to the team at the gym, who are always friendly, have encouraged and helped me along the way and who have never judged me during my journey. I will continue to train there for a long time to come.

My previous measurements (not taken until 22/01/15):
Waist - 38"
Hips - 45"
Chest - 41.5"
Thighs - 28"
Calves - 16.5"
Bicepts - 12.5"

My new measurements: 
Waist - 30"
Hips - 36"
Chest - 33"
Thighs - 21"
Calves - 14"
Bicepts - 10.5"

That's an amazing 40" off my body.

Thanks to you all for supporting me along this journey and giving me the encouragement I needed. I'm delighted to share that this week I was awarded member of the month at the gym and rewarded with Champagne!
