A week ago today my friend and I were anticipating taking the children to intu Lakeside for an evening of fun and Ice Skating at the Crystal marquee covered Ice Rink and Bar.
We drove over there early to get some food first and had a glimpse of the covered ice skating rink and Santa's Grotto - A very cool Ginger Bread House.
Just before 7pm we made our way to the Christmas Village which is located outside near House of Fraser in carpark 3.
We were greeted, along with various guests who had been invited to the evening event to showcase the Ice Skating Rink and Bar. Having been offered drinks at the bar which serves naughty and nice festive drinks we set about adorning our ice skates and getting onto the ice!
The minimum age to skate is 4yrs and under 8's must be accompanied by an adult on the ice. The team of staff there are super hot on sticking to the rules for safety and are super helpful.
We had a blast. Even Santa made an appearance!
The Christmas Village which includes rides, A bigger and better German Christmas market, Santa's Grotto and of course the Ice Skating Rink which is 600m2 (nearly the size of 3 tennis courts) is now fully open to the public. Tickets for the ice skating and Grotto can be booked here.
Thanks intu Lakeside, we loved it! We'll be posting a review of Santa's Grotto very soon!
