Big monkey was introduced to The Force Awakens indoors whilst watching the DVD with Daddy. I wasn't keen that he watch it at the cinema (as it was rated certificate 12A). But he was allowed to watch it indoors as long as he was happy to do so. He absolutely loved it! I was afraid it would be too scary or inappropriate for an 8 year old. I remember watching the odd movie when I was younger but it was really my twin brother, who along with my Dad, who were the fans in our house.
As a child Hubby remembers watching Star Wars IV 'A New Hope' during the summer holidays over and over again. So much so he (almost) knew the script back to front. Luke Skywalker was his childhood hero from the films and he said he was extremely envious of his friends who had all of the famous toy battleships and characters. Now aged 43 he still remembers exactly which Star Wars toys his friends had......the Millennium Falcon, At-At Walker, Snow Speeder and Ex Wing Fighter.
The monkeys have two characters from The Force Awakens film, which they think are great - Rey and Poe Dameron! Collectibles, we'll be keeping in their boxes.
We also have these fab Itty Bitty's which I've taken a shine to! Rey, R2-D2, Kylo Ren, C3PO, Darth Vader and a Storm Trooper. So I guess we are bigger 'fans' of Star Wars than I thought we were! I think Daddy's passion has rubbed off.
The monkeys have had their photo taken with Storm Troopers. We went to Legoland one year for big monkeys birthday which happens to coincide with their Star Wars weekend! A little unsure to begin with, the two of them soon came round! Although little monkey looks a little nervous here!
These Star Wars Toys from Thinkway Toys who have recently come to the UK from Cananda look FABULOUS! I know the monkeys (and their Daddy) would love to play with R2D2 and BB8.
Star Wars fans favourite droid comes to life with sound effects, walking and spinning actions. The Star Wars™interactive R2-D2™ responds to pre-programmed instructions via the remote control, moving in all directions as it makes original movie sound effects and moves its head. How awesome does it sound! I even want one!
There are 10 buttons on the remote control to program over 1000 action combos. Activate R2-D2's special projection facility to view an imprisoned Princess Leia.
Adorable astromech droid from Star Wars™Episode VII - The Force Awakens comes to life with the U-Command Interactive BB-8.
Use the joystick infrared remote control to command BB-8 to move in all directions. He goes forward, in reverse, turns left or right, plus in a rolling and spinning action. It has over 20 original droid-speak phrases, plus special pre-programmed actions with different moods (happy, sad, excited, worried, scared and frustrated). A a voice activated feature allows you to interact with him via a built-in microphone. Now that really is fantastic! From aged 4+ this really would suit both monkeys!
Both Star Wars toys retail for around £149 but are currently £99 each in Toys R Us!
