Week 5 Project365

Day 25. A quiet day indoors after us all being out all day yesterday, so the monkeys set up camp in the bedroom to play.
Day 26. I've started doing Pilates and this venue is a very nice place to do it!
Day 27. Little monkey was awake a few times in the night and was feeling it later in the day. He said he wasn't tired but I caught him resting his head!
Day 28. The loom bands came out this morning after not being used in a while. Big monkey made me this bless him.
Day 29. An under the weather big monkey and unusually quiet little monkey having a rest on the sofa together.
Day 30. The monkeys decided moving the dining chairs into the lounge and sitting on them was more fun than using the sofa!
Day 31. Little monkeys 4th Birthday and here he is being a cheeky monkey! More on his birthday soon!.

It's been a great week and month on the whole. No complaints for 2015 so far. How can it be 1st Feb tomorrow already though? Time sure does fly doesn't it. Joining in with the #365 linky as usual. Just click the badge below for more linked up posts with the lovely TheBoyandMe.

Valentines Gift Idea's -Toxic Fox

Christmas seems just a distant memory now and with Valentines Day just around the corner I have been looking at gift idea's. The Mr and I usually exchange cards and a little gift each. Often we don't do much else though, as generally we like to think every day should be for letting one and other know how we feel about each other, not just one day of the year. However, I'd be lying if I said that I wouldn't be upset if we did nothing to mark Valentines Day.
With this in mind I've been sent a Lovebirds Framed Poem from the Valentines Day Gifts Collection 'LOL' (funny range) at Toxic Fox.
Toxic Fox is a personalised and unique gift website founded in the UK in 2011 by five entrepreneurs. It sells a vast amount of gifts for all occaisions.
My Personalised frame arrived quickly and very well packaged. I had opted for a black matt frame from a choice of three. I was also asked to provide personalisation for the frame.
The Poem reads (insert names)
Sitting in a tree
First comes love
Then comes marriage
Then comes a baby in a baby's carriage
Although from the funny gifts collection I think it's sweet. The frame is well made, of very good quality and looks great hung in our bedroom. I specifically chose the black matt frame as it goes well with our theme.
It's fun and light hearted. I'm really pleased with it.
Mounted within cream card, the poem looks great and the colours really stand out. At £39.99 I think it's a great gift. The monkeys quickly noticed it hanging. Hubby took a little longer LOL! The range of gifts for Valetines Day cover a multitude of different types ranging from rudes ones to romantic ones, and lots more.
There's nothing not to like. This Lovebirds Framed Poem may not be for everyone but there is something for everyone from the range.
To celebrate Valentines Day and to say thanks for reading Toxic Fox have a 10% off code for you all - TFLove. Valid until Feb 15th it can be used against the entire Valentines Day Collection except the 3 for 2.

I was sent this framed poem to review. All thoughts and opions are my own.

More Space Needed!

It's no secret we need more space, that's even after having a conservatory built and having a loft conversion to create a third bedroom and an en-suite. With two monkeys, all their paraphernalia and everything else that comes with living in a family home we would just like more space.
I'd love more room downstairs, a bigger garden, another bedroom, a utility room, a downstairs toilet, a porch and not least a bigger fridge freezer! Ours just bursts at the seams each time it's stocked up with the food shopping delivery. Each Christmas it's crying out to be replaced!
Our current well 'loved' fridge freezer
We have been looking at fridge freezers and there are some awesome ones out there, but in reality we will more than likely just replace ours with one that is the same width and depth. Although it will be much taller and therefore have more capacity. We've done some online searching and have visited our local showroom, so know this does exsist.
Not quite as full as it can be!
Ideally (if we had more room in the kitchen), we would love one of those huge double American fridge freezers with water dispenser and ice maker. Sadly we'd need a new kitchen for that, and that's a whole new blog post! Maybe one day? I'd certainly like to think so.
For now, we carry on juggling the fridge foods on shopping day (which is usually down to me) and look forward to fridge freezer shopping and sorting all those other dreams listed.

Blue Marmalade London - Clothing Review

I recently came across a company on twitter called Blue Marmalade London. An online clothing boutique who launched in 2014. They sell luxury clothing brands and design their own collection too. Aimed at 'off duty' clothing, their loungewear is gorgeous. "Focusing on the most beautiful clothes in the most delicious fabrics, Helen has built Marmalade into a haven of luxurious off-duty loungewear that women love to relax in. There’s only one rule. No velour."
I have had the pleasure of being asked to review for them and was recently sent two items from their range to put to the test. Helen wrote in her initial email to me "We believe it's worth dressing in something that makes you feel gorgeous. Loungewear has become uninspiring and frumpy. We want to change that. In fact we're on a bit of a mission".
Helen and I decided which items I would review and I then waited excitedly for my package to arrive. I didn't have to wait long. This is what greeted me when I opened the box.
How lovely is that wrapping? The attention to detail and quote from Marilyn Monroe, such a nice touch. All for free delivery  world wide too! Almost too nice to open, I did however open it to take a look inside.
Helen asked my size and sent the appropriate size (in this case medium). Both items at made from 95% lyocell and 5% elastane and are ultra soft. Both fitted perfectly and are very comfy.
The top is trimmed in cream with mother of pearl buttons and has a slightly structured collar. It is so lovely to wear and has washed and dried well. I didn't feel too hot wearing it in bed but comfy and 'special'. Priced at £49 it is sadly at the higher end of the loungewear market for me but I would certainly recommend this item to anyone wanting to treat that special woman in their life (or me of course).
The track pants were a perfect fit, "the ultimate evening PJ pant" with a cream ribbon tied waistband and cuffed ankles. They also have pockets. The cuffed ankles are perfect for me being only 5ft tall! They too are very comfy indeed and luxurious. I do love wearing this rather gorgeous combo. Once again they wash and dry well. They too are priced at £49 a pair.
In conclusion I'm delighted with the two pieces Helen sent me. Sadly I could not have afforded to buy them myself but would maybe expect to receive such luxury loungewear as a birthday gift or similar. I do however feel that with the service, quality, attention to detail with the packaging and the free delivery that the price of each item is fair. Would I buy? Most definitely. You can see the other items sold here.

A Day He'll Remember!

Saturday was highly anticipated by big monkey, for he was due to go to Colchester United to spend the day there. Maybe this is why he couldn't sleep the night before and woke us all at 3 and 4am?
His football team had arranged for a day there, so the boys could take part in a football tournament, have a tour of the stadium and meet the players for a question and answer session. Followed by watching the match between Colchester and Leyton Orient. I think it's safe to say that's why he woke. He was excited and raring to go!
I have to say I've never been there myself before and it's a pretty impressive stadium. There are 3G pitches across the other side of the carpark from the stadium, and that is where the boys played their tournament. Sadly they did not stand a chance against the other team as they were just extremely well trained, too good and quick, but the boys enjoyed themselves all the same.
Next they had lunch in one of the Stadium suites that had been hired out. Hot dogs and drinks all round, which were well received and well deserved! The boys were given a choice at this point, whether they wanted a tour or training session. Big monkey chose the training session. I'm glad we had the suite all day, as this was when I sat 'out' and let the men go back out into the bitter cold!
Sadly after their training session, there was no time to meet the players and have a Q&A session so we headed to our seats ready to watch the match. They were just outside where the suite was, so this was ideal as it meant we could leave our belongings in there and use the facilities during half time!
It was bitterly cold sitting there during the match but the boys didn't seen to mind! Big monkey was in his element, sat there with his mates, and they loved it when Colchester won 2-0!
A fantastic day out for big monkey with both myself and Daddy plus one of his Grandads.
Happily little monkey had a good day with friends of ours, indoors in the warm. It was lovely to collect him at dinner time.

Sadly I'm not able to post any other photo's as they have other children in them or the players.

OMG! A Clean 9 Detox Update.

At weigh-in this last Thursday I was 2lb down on the week before, bringing my total weighloss to date to 15lb, since November. This weigh-in saw the start of my Clean 9 detox journey, and today I had to weigh myslef again. In two days I've lost another whooping 7.7lb!!!!!
The detox lasts 9 days, with weigh-in's on days 1,3,6 and 9. Today is day 3. I really cannot belive the weight I've lost. Now a total of 22.7lbs, to say I'm chuffed is an understatement.
The plan has been easy to follow so far and the only thing I've found challenging is taking the Aloe Vera gel. However, it is managable! No food from Weds night until this evening and from now until the end of the detox it has to be a 600 calorie meal. Plenty of water drunk and I'm feeling good.
I'm not stupid though and I know that I need to watch what I eat when the detox finishes or it will all go back on, but I intend to do just that. I've not felt this good in a long time!

Week 4 Project 365

Day 18. Little monkey was constructing his Duplo whilst big monkey was at football training.
Day 19. Big monkey has been building a snowman at school!
Day 20. A very cold and frosty day, which I had to photograph.
Day 21. Very happy to have got these Gortex boots in the sale for the monkeys!
Day 22. Weigh in day and at last I've gone over the 1st weigh loss mark! 15lbs to be exact. More needs to go though.
Day 23. The monkeys 'hair' has been growing! They've been giving them haircuts!
Day 24. A great day out for big monkey today. Tourament, lunch, and training at Colchester United before watching today's match. They won 2-0, so he was happy for the win as a first time spectator!

A Great week all in all. Linking up with TheBoyandMe as always. Just click the badge below, for more 365 posts.

90:10 "Signature" Embroidered Pullover Hoodie - Review & Giveaway

As some of you may know hubby works in the fitness industry which means he lives in shorts or tracksuit bottoms and t.shirts. Naturally when he isn't working he likes to look good in something else and tends to wear jeans and a hoodie. Now he may be in his early 40's, but he often acts like a big kid, so when I heard about menswear brand 90:10 I was intrigued. What does it mean?
Born from an idea down the pub, founder and owner Daniel of 90:10 explains.
"90:10 is a new and exciting brand for men who consider themselves to be 90% grown up and 10% not. Encapsulated within the brand's message is some recognition for a guy for getting his act together but at the same time reminding him that this doesn't mean that he is now over the hill. We all have responsibilities but I don't accept that just because I am no longer a teenager or in my early 20's at college, I have lost the ability to have fun or have forgotten how to enjoy myself...far from it! This is what a guy is expressing about himself if he wears 90:10. For the lion's share of the time, we all have to take life seriously but not all the time! My vision is to marry humorous and innovative branding to stylish and great quality clothing delivered to the customer at the right price in an environmentally responsible way."
Seems fair enought to me! So now you know how 90:10 came about, let me share with you hubby's thoughts on one of the 90:10 hoodies, which was kindly sent to us for him to review.
He was sent a Navy 'Signature' embroidered pullover hoodie from the collection of hoodies, sweatshirts, t shirts and polo's that are available from 90:10.
The 'Signature' pullover hoodie is lightweight, made from 100% pure organic cotton, has a small embroidered 90:10 logo to the left breast, a drawstring neckline and double kangaroo front pockets. It comes in five different colours. Hubby wears a medium usually so that is what I asked for.
Here are hubby's thoughts. "I love the colour, the feel and fit of the hoodie, although at first I thought it might be a bit too snug. The wife assures me it is not. The material is lovely and soft. The hoodie looks great on its own or under a gilet. I really like the design of the logo as it is small and unobtrusive. Finally, navy is a great choice for me, classic but not too boring".
I think you'll agree the hoodie looks great. It feels so soft. I might even borrow it from time to time! It washes well and looks as good as new. The fit is perfect and it looks fab on him.
Daniel is kindly giving one of you the chance to win a 'Signature' embroidered pullover hoodie worth £42 from the 90:10 collection. All you have to do to be in with a chance of winning one is complete the rafflecopter form below. Open to UK residents only. Giveaway closes on the 5th Feb 2015 at 23.59. T&C'S apply. Good Luck!
