TOMY - John Deere Monster Treads Shake and Sounds Tractor

Both monkeys have been known in their time to LOVE all things with wheels. Little monkey still does and tractors are no exception. He was recently sent a fabulous John Deere Monster Treads Shake and Sounds Tractor from Tomy to play with during the recent half term. It's sure been put through it's paces!
TOMY - John Deere Monster Treads Shake and Sounds Tractor
The tractor was reasonably easy to unpackage as kids toys go. So many are so difficult to unbox with the multitude of safety and security features they have!
Luckily it didn't take long for little monkey to get his hands on the tractor. He found the little red button on the back of it very quickly, which in turn when pressed activates the sounds and shake feature. Very realistic sounds mean his new tractor sounds like his Uncles real one.
The huge monster tread wheels are fab, meaning it can be tipped back and balances, it can be pushed with ease on the grass in the garden and can be whizzed around indoors. He is thrilled with it. Tomy have a great range of other John Deere vehicles available on their website, this being our first I'm very impressed with it.
The John Deere Monster Treads Shake and Sounds Tractor is aimed at children aged 3-8 years and comes complete with 3 x AAA batteries. The battery compartment is hidden under the bonnet of the tractor and despite being used lots we've yet to change them as they've lasted very well. It's priced at £19.99 which I think is great value for money as it will last the strength of time.
It gets a huge thumbs up from both monkeys here! We've yet to find something we dislike about it. All pieces are still present and correct and he is still enjoying it daily. That speaks for itself!

We were sent this toy from Tomy for the purpose of this review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
We're going on an adventure

Dining At Beefeater Grill

Introducing the new delicious Summer Menu from Beefeater.
Just as the weather starts to get hot, Beefeater restaurants have introduced their new delicious menu for summer, packed full of family favourites as well as some scrumptious, innovative new dishes.
We were recently invited along to enjoy a family meal to sample the new menu, so took the opportunity to eat at our nearest restaurant on Father's Day.
We had never eaten in this particular Beefeater Grill before and found it to be very pleasant. The waitress was very attentive and the food plentiful, with starters being served quickly so that the monkeys didn't have to wait too long for food.
The monkeys both enjoyed meals from the Kids Mr Men and Little Miss Kids menu. I had risotto and hubby had a burger.
Famous for steaks, Beefeater continues to offer a selection of the best cuts, cooked to sizzling perfection – including its 8oz '74 signature steak – and has added four new mouth-watering burgers to its range, including the mega 'Triple Stacked Burger', which is a must for any meat lover, incorporating a 1/4lb steak burger, slow-cooked pulled beef and beef rashers. Hubby enjoyed the
Double Bacon & Cheese Steak Burger!
Burger and Chips
Even if you're not a meat-lover, Beefeater is determined to satisfy everyone's tastes by offering a new fresh fish dish 'Salmon Fillet with a Herb Crust', served on a bed of kale with dauphinoise potatoes. There are also several new seasonal dishes, including a juicy Double Peri Peri Chicken and mouth-watering meaty salads. I loved my Char grilled Chicken & Woodland Mushroom Risotto, swapping the chicken for salmon. It was delicious.

As if the above were not enough, Beefeater is now offering 'Unlimited Chips' with any meal – meaning that even the hungriest of eaters are satisfied!

The Mr Men and Little Miss menu offers great value for money with a varied nutritional meal choice for children. They can choose from 1 to 3 courses which now come with a free drink. Little monkey cleared his bowl of Mr Messy's Spaghetti Bolognese.
Kids Spaghetti Bolognese
Being that bit older big monkey enjoyed a children's roast chicken dinner.

For those that have a sweet tooth, Beefeater has a range of new lip-smacking puddings to meet your craving: a gooey 'Chocolate Melt in the Middle Pudding', a crumbly 'Vanilla Baked Cheesecake with Raspberry Compote' and a tempting 'Eton Mess Sundae', perfect for the summer months. Both the monkeys enjoyed the kids Ice Cream Sundae's with chocolate sauce. Hubby had the Rocky Road Sundae and naughty me had the Chocolate & Honeycomb Sundae.
Ice Cream Sundae
Beefeater is a British brand that first fired up the grill in 1974 and now has over 140 restaurants nationwide.

We didn't have to wait too long at all for any of our food even though being Father's Day it was busy. Our food was cooked fresh in the kitchen we could see close to where we were sitting.

Why not take a look online to find your nearest restaurant and take a look at the menu!
We'll be going again! Thanks Beefeater Grill.

We were sent vouchers to cover the bill in return for this post.

Spot A Lot - Book Buddies Review & Giveaway

As Parragon Book Buddies each month we enjoy getting new books to review and May's book was no excpetion! Spot A Lot Vehicle Adventure by Steve Smallman arrived on our door mat.
Spot A Lot Book
An ideal and very apt book for my two monkeys I knew they would be excited to see it.
Written by Steve Smallman, an award winning picture book author from Stafford and illustrated by Nicola Slater from Manchester the picture book is bright, clear, concise and colourful.
Available from Toys R Us at £5.99 the book is about a delivery man who's van has broken down. Follow his vehicle adventure. There's a dog to find and follow on every page and some counting to do too!
Big monkey really enjoyed sitting down and reading the book and going through it with little monkey. They spotted lots of things along the way and read out the instructions throughout the book. The pages have a colour theme in general too.
Another great title from Parragon Books that both the monkeys love. With acticities to follow it's a fab paper backed book that they have read over and over.
You can win a copy thanks to Parragon Books. Complete the rafflecopter form below by Midnight July 2nd 2015. T&C's apply. Open to UK residents only. Good Luck!

New Curtains!

A few years ago we pretty much had our whole house redecorated, except for our Kitchen. We'd had a loft conversion and all except the Kitchen was effected. Luckily we had budgeted for a decorator to come in and decorate. Our lounge was re-papered on one wall and the others were painted. Once that was done I then set about accessorising with cushions, curtains and a rug but have never been overly impressed with the curtains I chose! They matched my colour scheme well but were thin and not quite right. Ever since I've been on the look out for something to replace them and recently got some fab curtains from Julian Charles.
They are similar in colour and match our scheme well but the stripes on them are horizontal instead of vertical. They are much thicker and are lined so will be warmer during the winter months.
I've opted for the same drop but each curtain is wider so they look fuller. With the eyelet tops they easily fitted onto our curtain pole and were so easy to hang quickly. I'm really pleased with them! The only downside is that they are dry clean only which wouldn't be my preferred way to clean them.
Julian Charles have a variety of curtains, cushions, bedding and other soft furnishings. There are curtains with varying types of finish but I prefer the eyelet ones personally.
I love that these are an almost perfect match to our wallpaper colours, our wooden window blind and carpet. I'm delighted with them. Much better than what we had.

We we kindly sent these curtains from Julian Charles for the purpose of this post.

My BritMums Live Experience 2015

Last year I went to BritMums Live for the first time and loved it. So I was very keen to go again this year and that is exactly what I did! If you didn't already know (then where have you been) BritMums was this last weekend. From 2pm Friday until 6pm Saturday, in a wonderful London venue full of parent bloggers. It seemed slightly less busy than last year.
The Brewery London
The Twirly Woos from Cbeebies were there to greet us and what a sight they were! Sadly I somehow managed to miss having my photo taken with them but I did manage to be wrapped as a Mummy!
The Twirly Woos
You see, this year BritMums decided as an icebreaker, they'd like to see if we could break a world record! A room full of, mainly Mums, had to either wrap or be wrapped in toilet roll from head to toe like Egyptian Mummies in an attempt to see how many Mummies we could make in 3 minutes. To everyone's delight and under strict adjudication from the bods at The Guinness Book Of Records we broke the record! Now that is awesome and was fun to do too! The monkeys were delighted mummy is a world record breaker!

Me As a Mummie
My Friday at BriMums was a whirlwind of hello's, meeting brands and entering their competitions, cups of tea and general chit chat. So many bloggers came up to me to congratulate me on my recent weight loss. I felt like a celebrity! My roomie AK from My Buggy Junction, myself and Jane from Our Little Escapades decided we wouldn't stay for the Brilliance In Blogging Awards after the BIB''s drinks party. We went to our hotel to check in and change instead. I hear the awards went well and wish to congratulate all the winners.
Dinner that night was at Wagamamas, over 30 of us sat at one long bench table with lots of raucous noise and laughter. A great way to end the first part of our BritMums weekend.
Joules Competition
Onto Saturday which starts with breakfast at BritMums, we missed the first ten minutes of sessions as we'd decided to breakfast at our hotel instead. I've found the Saturday to be far calmer and more relaxed as bloggers attend sessions they wish to. There were tea and coffee breaks, and of course lunch during the day. It flew by! I found the sessions I attended were very informative and useful. The "embracehappy" session was the most thought provoking. I made a point of missing some sessions to use the wonderful craft room and mingle amongst the brands. This is where I caught up with friends and met other bloggers I'd only 'met' through social media before. I loved all of it! Lunch was delicious and everyone was so friendly.
I'm delighted to have got the chance to make some no-sow bunting in the craft room. It was so relaxing and calming sat there chatting away to other bloggers whilst getting my craft on!
Me on the way to day 2
With Freddy Bear
The best and most poignant part of the weekend for me was the bloggers keynote session at the end. Caprice spoke first and was so down to earth. I really liked her. Next it was the turn of bloggers who had been voted to read out blog posts from their blogs. Funny ones, sad ones and of course, heart-breaking ones, they all bought something special to the stage! I salute them all.
I'd say this years BritMums Live was better than last year (but that's probably mainly down to last years being my first). I met and chatted to so many more bloggers this year that I had wanted to meet. For me seeming less busy and full-on was a huge bonus too! I loved all of it!

Thanks so much to Dry Like Me, as without their sponsorship I doubt I would have been able to go. Thanks also to BritMums for the fab organisation and goodie bags. I'm already looking forward to going again next year!

If I didn't say hello to you please forgive me. I'm not the best at speaking first, or recognising faces! I hope you enjoyed it if you went, as much as I did! Hope to see you there next year!
