Late Summer, Early Autumn Fun!

We've a great RHS garden close by and during the summer holidays they held an Alice In Wonderland Trail. The monkeys and I didn't actually get there until the last few days of the summer holidays but luckily we picked a day when the sun actually shone and as an added bonus there was a craft fair there too! This meant it was very busy, but it also meant the monkeys and I got to eat ice creams from the visiting vintage ice cream van! The monkeys wore their GORE-TEX® shoes* as there had been rain, so I knew the ground would be a bit damp! Meaning they could run around the lawns, climb the children's adventure play area and generally have lots of fun without worrying about their shoes getting ruined or their feet getting wet!

The adventure play area is new to us. The last time we were there it wasn't built, so both monkeys were keen to try it out, which meant Mummy got a rest whilst they played and I watched them. I was fortunate to sit close by in the sun. They climbed, swung from ropes, slid down the fabulous slide, explored the woods and finally joined me on the bench to rest! I'm sure they needed to catch their breath! It was great and definitely somewhere you could spend the whole day. The vegetable gardens were fab but a little soggy under foot! We had so much fun, we've even been back this last weekend with Daddy as he not been in such a long time too.
Just after big monkey went back to school and before little monkey started we also got a quick last minute trip in to visit Nanny and Grandad on their boat. Another great opportunity for the monkeys to wear their GORE-TEX® shoes as once again it had been raining! So easy to get on and off, the monkeys love to wear their matching shoes. So, off to Windsor for the day we went, with time spent on the boat to have lunch and then a play and explore in the park and an exciting Duck Tour through Windsor and along the River Thames. Now that was good! The monkeys loved it and no one got wet!
We walked by the castle where of course I had to grab this photo, and sat eating delicious ice creams on the castle wall. There are so many visitors to Windsor, it's a great place to people watch and explore! Another fab day that we didn't want to end. I think both monkeys fell asleep in the car on the way home that day.

*"Whether outdoors eating ice-cream with friends or indoors playing table football: childrens feet stay cool and dry with the integrated GORE-TEX® SURROUNDTM technology. The micro porous GORE-TEX® membrane provides protection and climate comfort on all sides".

As GORE-TEX® ambassadors we were sent these shoes for both moneys. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
