What a busy week. All work and no play! Payday though. Yay! I've been trying to get rid of a cold all week and still haven't shaken it off! The monkeys returned to school after half term and we've been doing what we do each day!

Here's our week 8 in photo's.
Day 52. Managed to capture these three monkeys before they moved or all pulled a face!
Day 53. Busy day with work either end, the dentist and gym but also managed a quick coffee date with hubby.
Day 54. A cheeky vino whist the monkeys slept and hubby was at work!
Day 55. What a glorious start to the day.
Day 56. Loving the new growth in the garden this time of year.
Day 57. She's determined to escape is Holly!
Day 58. A flying visit to Lakeside, we popped to Burger King for tea!

How has your week been? I can't believe Easter is so close! The year is already flying by

5 Mother’s Day Gift Ideas For 2016

Mother’s Day is the perfect opportunity to really spoil your mum and show her just how much you love her; it is the perfect day for you to try and pay her back after all those years of putting up with you and looking after you.
All of our mums are different and only you will know exactly what to buy her to put a huge smile on her face and make her feel loved and appreciated. However, if you are a little stuck for ideas, we have compiled a list of Mother’s Day gifts that will ensure that you can find something special for your mum; whether you are planning on spoiling her with a lavish gift or simply want to find something that you know will put a smile on her face.
However, we all know that with our busy and hectic lives, many of us are unable to find the time we need to go out and look around specific shops, whether it is on the high street or online. That is why we have decided to give you a little helping hand this year and share with you some of our favourite gift ideas to spoil your mum as much as she deserves this year.

A Semi-Precious Necklace
If you are a little stuck for ideas on what to buy your mum, then you could well be onto a winner with this one. A semi-precious necklace is one of those gifts that always seems to go down well with mums. Take some time to look through her existing jewellery collection to ascertain if there are any particular colours that she favours, or if this is not going to be possible, consider buying a necklace that will match her eyes.
It is possible to purchase a semi-precious necklace for around £20 if you are a little short of money, or if you prefer, you can spend hundreds of pounds. The choice really is up to you but remember that it is the thought that counts and she will love it regardless of what you choose.

Spa Weekend
If are looking to really spoil your mum and want to spend some quality time with her, why not book the two of you in for a spa day or weekend together? She really will appreciate such an extravagant gift and the opportunity for the two of you to spend some quality time together. There are an abundance of last minute deals that can be picked up and it doesn’t even have to be on the weekend of Mother’s Day, meaning that you can be assured of not paying way over the odds.
Another gesture to make it all that much more of a special Mother’s Day is to treat her to some spa gifts for her to use on the weekend. Trust me, she will remember such a beautiful present for years and years to come.

Afternoon Tea
Sadly for those of you who are looking to save their pennies, I am afraid that I am not about to advise you to go and buy a pack of Twinnings and present this to your mum. Like the spa weekend, this is one of those gifts that she will appreciate so much and feel particularly pampered.
There are a wealth of locations available around the whole of the UK where you indulge in some afternoon tea and spend the time relaxing; it is also ideal for the whole family, so why not invite your dad and your brothers and sisters along for the afternoon too. There are plenty of options available to suit all budgets, ranging from £20 per person to over £100 per person depending on the venue and the quantity of food and tea (of course!) required!

This one is certainly a little more tricky that the other gift ideas and it requires you to have some kind of knowledge with regards to the perfume that your mum prefers. If you make the wrong choice it could end up being more than a little awkward and she will have to feign her happiness, which is something that you certainly do not want to happen!
If you are unsure what perfume to buy her then maybe ask your dad if he can recommend a particular perfume; we all know that dads aren’t always the most reliable of creatures, so the better option may be to find an excuse for a visit before the big day and sneak a look at her perfume collection!

A City Break
Again, this one may be a little too extravagant but if you have the cash, why not? Ideally you should look to take her to a city that she has never visited before but has always wanted to – perhaps Rome, Venice or Madrid. Luckily for those of us who live in Europe we have a wealth and variety of cultures on our doorstep just waiting to be explored!
If you are one of those who does not get the opportunity to see their mother too often, this one certainly is ideal due to the fact that you will spend quality time together and enjoy each other company while seeing some beautiful sights.

How I'd Dress Hubby for the day!

Sponsored post.

Hubby works in the fitness profession so he pretty much always dresses in tracksuit bottoms, trainers and work branded t-shirts and hoodies. Whilst he always looks good how I'd dress hubby would be very slightly different.
Of course he wears what he does to work because he has to. During family time, days off and for socialising I think in general he has it pretty much spot on! Jean's, a top (usually a t-shirt) and casual pumps.
If we are going out for a meal the jeans are smarter, pumps are swapped for brogues and the t-shirt is swapped for a shirt and sometimes a blazer. House of Fraser recently asked me what I'd dress him in for the day! Personally I always think he looks good but I would say he would also suit polo shirts! They are timeless, look good and are so versatile. You can dress them up or down! Wear them with jeans, denim shorts in summer, chino's.
I like the fitted style of a polo shirt on him. They look smarter than a t-shirt.
I'd buy him similar to these two polo shirts. The bottom one in particular looks super cool. I love the stripes and the colour too! I'd team it with jeans and some converse! I'm pretty sure he would wear what I'd choose. He has good taste (of course) and I would most likely wear what he chose for me! Not that we need to buy or choose each others clothes of course. This you see is just for fun!

So there you have it, a polo shirt, jeans and pumps! Not that different from what he would choose himself!

How would YOU dress your partner for the day?

Biscuiteers - Mother's Day Tea For Two Biscuit Tin - Review

I've not had the pleasure of trying Biscuiteers out until very recently. Now I know what I've been missing! I was kindly sent their delightful Mother's Day Tea For Two Biscuit Tin to sample and boy was I in for a treat. Packaged beautifully and with a personal message for me just inside this 'Open Me' postcard the tin is fantastically presented.
Inside the beautiful tin there are 16 hand-iced biscuits in the shape of vintage inspired teapots and teacups created especially for Mum.
Opening the tin and uncovering the four layers was rather exciting (for someone who is easily excited and loves treats). Under each layer were different coloured biscuits and designs. Each with a theme. This fab little video shows just what I saw when opening my own tin. It's taken from the Biscuiteers website.
This tin is £39.50 for 16 biscuits and is available in gluten free too. The biscuits can also be personalised. A personalised Mother's Day Tea For Two Biscuit Tin would cost £44.50. There are several gorgeous Mother's Day biscuit gifts available, starting from just £6 which all look fabulous to me!
The biscuits are quite sweet but very delicious and very moreish! Vanilla flavoured. They looked far too pretty to eat! I've enjoyed mine with a cup of tea of an afternoon, whilst trying to grab five minutes of quiet time. No mean feat in this house! Hubby and the monkeys have tasted them too and also given them the thumbs up.
Here are the ingredients from the website.

Biscuit: flour, butter, sugar, golden syrup, pasteurised egg, the best cocoa powder, vanilla pods or all spice.

Icing: icing sugar, water, meriwhite meringue powder, food colours*.
Crunchy sugar: confectioner’s glaze, carnuba wax, food colours*.
Allergy advice: contains wheat gluten, eggs and milk. Our biscuits are made in kitchens in which we also prepare lots of delicious things that include nuts and sesame seeds.
Suitable for vegetarians

How long do they last?
Our biscuits are baked daily and they will stay fresh for three months if unopened.

Not that you wouldn't open them within 3 months!

Next day delivery is available if ordered by 1pm and Biscuiteers deliver world wide.

I'm delightfully impressed with my lovely gift from Biscuiteers and would recommend their biscuit gifts. They would make a gorgeous thank you gift for any Mum this Mother's Day. Mmm, I wonder if I'll get some more this Mother's Day!

Biscuiteers offer so much more too. Chocolates, cake and gifts for all, including him.

I was kindly sent this gift from biscuteers for the purpose of this post. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

We're going on an adventure

Project 366 - #7

TheBoyandMe's 366 Linky

Big monkey has been busy at football camp this week. Even though he has a cold he has been a trouper! I've enjoyed one to one time with little monkey and now have big monkeys cold! It's been a pleasant half term.

Here's our week 7 of 2016 in photo's!
Day 45. These monkeys are cheeky what nots! Out at the park, they happily posed together for a change!
Day 46. Little monkeys 'pose' for the camera ready to go out on the bus with Daddy in this get up! All chosen by himself.
Day 47. What a glorious start to the day! One of my favourite places.
Day 48. Enjoying his toy tractor ride at the kiddies farm. It was freezing so we didn't stay long!
Day 49. Ooh two dresses for Mummy to review.
Day 50. Hubbies cheesecake at Jamie's Italian.
Day 51. Watching big monkey play football. Little monkey was sat on my feet! Not great for the balance.

How has your half term been? I must say I'm pretty tired and I've worked less this week too. I've enjoyed having the monkeys home though!
