Until today I never realised you could dine in, order a takeaway or cook at home with Pizza Express. How cool is that!
Our
meal was booked for 17.30 and when we arrived it was just starting to
get busy downstairs. We opted to eat upstairs and were seated at a table
plenty big enough for 6-8 diners with a bench sofa style seat. Of
course this pleased the monkeys. They were given Piccolo Activity Packs
to help keep them entertained, which each contained an Easter themed
colouring activity, activity sheet and stickers.
After
choosing and getting our drinks we ordered off the Spring/Summer menu.
Both monkeys ate off the kids (Piccolo) menu (3 courses for £6.45). They
both had the baked dough balls with side salad for their starter. The
side salad consisted of cherry tomatoes, red peppers and cucumber. Big
monkey had Bolognese and little monkey had the Napoletana (pasta with
creamy tomato sauce and fresh basil) for their main course. Their drinks
were Cawston Press Kids Blend. An all natural juice drink with no added sugar.
Hubby chose to eat the Bruschetta Originale 'PizzaExpress' for starter and then opted for the new Risotto
Fresco (Peppered Salmon fillet with creamy white wine risotto) which
can be eaten as a starter or as a larger portion for the main.
We all thoroughly enjoyed our food which was presented well and tasted super delicious. Both the monkeys cleared both their starters and their mains. The waiting staff were friendly and checked on us regularly to ensure everything was OK.
Once
again the monkeys cleared their plates. We left happy and full. Maybe
the two large glasses of white wine spritzer I had helped to fill me up!
Whilst
eating the upstairs remained reasonably quiet with a few families
coming and going but downstairs was packed with diners. By the time we
left it was full down there.
We
had a lovely evening and are so pleased to have been chosen to be a
part of the #PizzaExpressFamily along with a number of other bloggers
and their families.
We're
also taking part in a fab twitter party on March 31st at 2pm until
3.30pm, which we'd love you to join in with too. Then finally we are
going to a kids Pizza Express party next month.
We look forward to seeing some of you at the twitter party soon. Just be sure to follow the #PizzaExpressFamily hash tag!
Tonight's meal and drinks were free of charge for the purpose of this post. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
