BISSELL Pro-Heat 2XRevolution Carpet Cleaner - Review

When we had a loft conversion built in September 2012, we had the whole house re-carpeted. I went for a natural colour which in hindsight was a little too light, but over all it's faired very well. Just this year though I was saying to hubby it could do with a freshen up! Usually we go to a large supermarket nearby and hire a carpet cleaning machine but Bissell agreed to send us their new BISSELL Pro-Heat 2XRevolution to review, after I was invited to one of their event and couldn't attend. Perfect, and with great timing too, as the night it arrived little monkey was sick all over his bedroom carpet!

Easy of use?
When I first opened the box I did think perhaps I would leave putting the carpet cleaner together until hubby arrived home from work, but on closer inspection it was very easy to do myself, with step by step instructions included in the leaflet. Hard wearing, it was very easy to use. I gave the little monkeys bedroom carpet a quick deep clean to get the stains off the carpet from my failed attempts at mopping up the mess in the dark the night before.
Briefly, just add the detergent, fill the clean water vessel, plug the cleaner in, select deep clean or express clean on the side of the cleaner and go! Remember to use your usual vacuum cleaner on the carpets first to get rid of any crumbs or debris. The BISSELL Pro-Heat 2XRevolution is used just like an upright vacuum. leaving a trail of warm clean water and detergent on the carpet which is then sucked back up, meaning the carpet can be dry in as little as 1 hour!

About the BISSELL Pro-Heat 2XRevolution Carpet Cleaner
The cleaner is Red Berends/Titanium in colour and weighs 8kgs. It's dimensions are: 110 x 32 x 38cm and it's power 800 watts. The cable length is long at 7 meters and winds around the unit when not in use. The clean water tank capacity is 3.7L and the dirt water capacity is 4.5L. Guaranteed for 6 years and costing £299 it's not cheap but well worth the price tag in our opinion. There are 12 Cleaning Rows of DirtLifter PowerBrushes and it uses HeatWave Technology. 

"The BISSELL Wash & Remove + Antibacterial formula included in the box, have been designed exclusively for the ProHeat 2XRevolution for use on soft surfaces, killing odour causing bacteria for clean smelling carpets. Plus it uses the power of Oxy to permanently remove old spots and stains embedded in carpets".
Water is kept consistently warm to optimise cleaning with the HeatWave Technology.

What we like?
We love it's ease of use and how clean it made the carpets. When in use you can immediately see the effects of the BISSELL Pro-Heat 2XRevolution Carpet Cleaner. The aroma of the detergent leaves a lovely smell in the house, which lasted a good while after the carpets were cleaned. All traces of the vomit were gone after very little effort from the cleaner! Including the smell! A stubborn paint stain on our lounge carpet is no longer visible. Although noisy, the cleaner isn't much louder (if at all) than a vacuum and was easy to push and pull whilst using the trigger to let water in and out during the process.

What we dislike?
When using the cleaner myself it sucked up the dirty water as it should have but seemed to less so when hubby used it. This could well be because he made the carpets too wet or wasn't doing something quite right (though he said he was). I'm confident that it's the user and not the machine but will of course check next time we use it. 

Conclusion 
We would highly recommend the BISSELL Pro-Heat 2XRevolution Carpet Cleaner and look forward to cleaning our sofa bed with the tools and attachments, which we've yet to use. I'm delighted we have been sent it to review and can safely say it does indeed clean as well as the leading rental cleaner. Available online at BISSELL
